Whether you’re planning a trip to Prague or have visited there many times before, you’ll definitely want to add this book to your travel library. Travelers’ Tales Prague and the Czech Republic features a collection of true stories written by individuals who have spent time travelling or living within Prague.

Forwarded by Ivan Klíma who is a well-known Czech novelist and playwright, the book includes stories about adventure, spiritual growth, romance, hilarity, and much more. There is a lot of reference to the the city’s best sights such as Prague Castle and Wenceslas Square.

One of the most memorable stories is by Paulina Porizkova, who relays her experiences as a young Czech girl fleeing the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. There also an excellent story written by Mary Morris about her adventure in finding Kafka’s castle, a mythical fortress in the novel by Franz Kafka. The book’s last story gives readers a glimpse into the slow life of Prague, which makes a nice ending to the series.

There is a lot to appreciate in this book. Although, the stories are a bit scattered and off-beat at times, the book is a great work of achievement led by accomplished writers. Anyone who wants to gain insight into this remarkable city beyond the typical tourists information and travellers reviews, will find it within this book. Travelers’ Tales Prague and the Czech Republic is a delightful and inspiring read.
